Nicholas Magni (Nicolaus Magni de Iawor, Mikuláš Magni z Jawora, Nikolaus Groß von Jauer, born c. 1335, died 22 March 1435) was a late medieval theologian, professor at Heidelberg University. Born in Jawor, Silesia, he studied in Vienna (1377) and Prague under Matthew of Krakow (from 1378, baccalaureus 1392, magister artium 1395), from 1397 rector of Prague University. In 1402, he went to Heidelberg, where he was likewise made rector in 1406. John Charles Haines (May 26 1818 in New York - July 4 1896; buried in Rosehill Cemetery) served as mayor of Chicago, Illinois (1858-1860) for the Democratic Party.
